Draft from every US World Cup squad, 1930–2026.
Build the perfect USMNT and go a perfect 8-0
Roll for a USMNT World Cup squad from 1930 to 2026 (Donovan, Dempsey, Pulisic, Howard, Reyna and more), then drag them onto your formation (or tap to auto-place). Complete your XI, simulate eight games to the final, and try to do what the USA never has: go unbeaten for a perfect 8-0.

How to play
First choose your squad pool (all-time World Cup legends or the USMNT), then a formation (4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2) and a difficulty. On Easy each player shows position stat ratings (passing, shooting, defending, and so on); on Hard the numbers are hidden and you draft on instinct. (All three lock once you place your first player, so choose before you start.)
Then roll: each roll lands on a legendary squad and reveals its players. You add oneof them, by dragging onto an open position they're eligible for, or tapping to auto-place. There are no re-rolls and no swaps: once a player is on the pitch they're locked in. The next squad rolls automatically until all eleven are filled.
When your XI is complete the Play the World Cupbutton appears. Your squad plays eight games: three in the group stage, then five knockout rounds to the final. Each result is driven by your players' ratings. Win all eight and you've gone a perfect 8–0 and lifted the trophy.
Why it's hard
The opponents get tougher every round, so even a stacked all-time XI is roughly even by the final. A great draft gives you a real shot at the cup, but going a clean 8-0 (no draws, no defeats, all the way through the knockouts) takes the perfect XI and a slice of luck. Every run is a fresh draw, so keep rebuilding and chasing the unbeaten trophy.

Frequently asked questions
How do you play Perfect XI?
Pick a squad pool (all-time World Cup legends or the USMNT), a formation and a difficulty. Each roll lands on a legendary World Cup squad; you draft one player from it onto an open position, then the next squad rolls automatically until your XI is complete. Then simulate eight games (three group matches and five knockout rounds) and try to win them all.
What is a perfect 8-0?
A perfect 8-0 means winning all eight games of a 2026-format World Cup run, three group games plus five knockout rounds (Round of 32, Round of 16, quarter-final, semi-final and final), without a single draw or defeat. Lift the trophy unbeaten and you've posted a perfect 8-0.
Which nations and eras can I pick from?
In all-time mode you draft from legendary World Cup squads across the decades: Brazil 1970, Brazil 1982, Brazil 2002, Argentina 1986, Argentina 2022, France 1998 and 2018, West Germany 1974, Germany 2014, the Netherlands 1974, Spain 2010, England 1966, Uruguay 1950 and Italy 2006. Switch to USMNT mode to build from every US World Cup squad from 1930 to 2026.
What's the difference between all-time mode and USMNT mode?
All-time mode lets you mix legends from any nation and era into one ultimate XI against world-class opposition. USMNT mode restricts the pool to United States World Cup squads, a tougher, more personal challenge against a lower opponent curve. Your formation and difficulty work the same in both.
Is Perfect XI free to play?
Yes. Perfect XI runs free in your browser, with no download or sign-up. Pick a squad, build your XI and simulate as many World Cup runs as you like.
